2009 Year in Review
Hey Everyone,
I thought I would give you a summary of how the year went for me as your 2009 Queen. I had a great time representing the EWJRA this year at all of our rodeos from Tekoa to Davenport. Unfortunately I was unable to attend St. Maries, but I bet it was a great rodeo as well.
I attended many other rodeos and functions representing our great organization this year as well. I attended a Washington state cattlewomen’s association meeting and gave a speech about our organization and our rodeo schedule, I also attended the Easton WA parade in May, the Lakefair parade and oyster feed in Olympia in July, the Ellensburg High school rodeo, the Washington State High School Rodeo Finals, the Toppenish Junior Rodeo, the Ellensburg Junior Rodeo in August, and the Ellensburg PRCA Rodeo and Parade over Labor Day Weekend where I rode in the parade, the grand entry of all performances of the rodeo as well as the Sunday night show and signed autographs after the rodeo. I was invited to attend the Pendleton Roundup Westward Ho parade and the Friday performance of the Roundup as well in September.
This has been a great experience for me and I encourage any of our members to try out for royalty as it is definitely a year you won’t forget, and it gives you so many other opportunities to promote the sport of rodeo, meet other rodeo royalty, and encourage other girls to follow their dreams.
I can’t wait for the awards banquet at the end of our 2009 rodeo season and hope to see all of our members there.
